Yup a few weeks ago my former advisor at the community college emailed me informing there was a few positions that needed filled for the voluenteers at a agency that deals with the mentally impaired. The medical term is mentally retarded however I can't stand using or saying the word retarded so hope you all don't mind me using impaired. Anyhow my roll there is doing interest and activity groups a few days a week for a few hours. So far I got to observe a activity group and love it. Tomorrow's my first day and I'm already nervious.
Wow you can't even pull off what over 90% of the working population in the united states does, getting a job, you have to volintear, confuckingradulations.
uh Blindguy, first off this job is service learning hours tords my education. Second I work with a bunch of mentally impaired people, lay off. You gotta have a education and training to be a paid employee. It gets me out of the house, away from this damn computer so uh I think you're the one who needs to go out and do something. Sheesh get a life.
Actually I had an internship at a software company before I even graduated high school, so you don't really need all that much of an education for internships and shit like that.
I graduated from HS with a regular ed diploma. And I also am a student awaiting transfer to the university level as I spent 5 years in a community college thinking of what I wanted to do. This job is giving me experience in the field thats all I ask. Voulenteer positions shouldn't ask for money.
